По данным издания, воздушное судно авиакомпании Ariana Afghan Airlines вылетело из города Герат на западе Афганистана и направлялось в индийскую столицу Нью-Дели. При этом отмечается, что на борту было 110 человек, а не 83.

Авиакомпания на своей странице в Facebook опровергла информацию о потере какого-либо из своих судов. По ее информации, все рейсы выполняются в соответствии с графиком.

Агентство Khaama Press в свою очередь пишет, что самолет мог направляться в Кабул. Однако представители портала FlightRadar, который отслеживает полеты, отметили, что эта информация не соответствует действительности и борт YA-PID успешно приземлился в афганской столице.

Представитель губернатора провинции Газни Ареф Нури (Aref Noori) заявил, что самолет загорелся после падения, местные жители пытаются потушить огонь, передает Dawn. В то же время, по его словам, до конца непонятно, было воздушное судно гражданским или военным.
